What are themes?
Themes are used to group related questions that span multiple categories, providing insight into broader issues that affect the organisation as a whole.
For example, this table shows the theme of Change Management across four categories.
Question Category | Questions related to Change Management |
---|---|
Leadership | "My leader communicates clearly during change." |
Communication | "I’m kept informed about changes that affect me." |
Culture | "Change is managed well in our team." |
Wellbeing | "I feel supported during times of change." |
Where will I see themes?
You will only see themes within the survey reporting section of AskYourTeam. They appear as a filter option.
Why can't I see themes?
If you can't see themes, it might be because:
- You haven't been granted permission to access specific reporting filters.
- Your survey doesn’t include enough questions linked to a theme. If the minimum is not met, no results will be displayed when the filter is applied.
- You're using a survey template that doesn't contain themes.
Themes are only available on the following survey templates:
- Business
- Local Government
- State Sector
- Internal/External Customer Voice
- Frontline Employee Voice
- Schools (Staff and Student)
- Financial Services Conduct & Culture
- Build Your Own

Can I create my own themes?
No, you can't.
