Leadership Effectiveness 360: Communication Examples
Survey communications play a significant role in helping the 360 process run smoothly. They help instruct participants on what to do and what to expect, helping them feel more confident and comfortable in taking part. They can also boost participation rates.
You'll get access to a series of communications when you create your survey, like email invitations and reminders. But you should also consider what pre-survey communications may be helpful too – you don't want a survey invitation to arrive in someone's inbox out of the blue!
We've included examples of communications you can use for your Leadership Effectiveness 360 survey, including a suggested pre-survey communication to participants selected for a feedback group.
Pre-survey email to feedback group
Use this to notify participants in the feedback group(s) that they've been selected to take part in a survey. This pre-survey email is sent by you (the organisation) directly to the participants in the feedback group(s).
Pre-survey email example:
Subject line:
You’ve been selected to provide feedback on [LEADER_NAME]
Email:
Hi [NAME],
As part of our focus on developing great leaders, [LEADER_NAME] will be participating in a Leadership Effectiveness 360 feedback survey.
You've been selected to provide feedback on [LEADER_NAME], so you'll receive an invitation to take their survey next week. This invitation will come from AskYourTeam (our survey partner).
[LEADER_NAME] values your honest feedback as part of this process. Your feedback is confidential and is combined with other participants' feedback, so your responses can't be identified.
When answering questions, please describe your experiences with [LEADER_NAME]. When it says 'team', that could refer to whichever team best relates to you and your relationship with [LEADER_NAME], e.g. Leadership team, Project team, etc. Here are some more tips on how to provide useful feedback.
If you have any questions about the survey or the process, please let me know.
Thanks,
[SURVEY_ADMINISTRATOR_NAME]
