Compare Heatmap Report

The Compare Heatmap Report is an easy way to compare how scores have changed between surveys for specific groups of people. It applies to Agree-Disagree question types only.

How to generate the report

To generate the Compare Heatmap Report:

  1. Select Compare surveys in the left menu or the Compare surveys button within a survey's reports.
  2. Select the two surveys you want to compare.
  3. Select Build reports and then Heatmap.
  4. Select a demographic category you'd like to view from the dropdown menu. Only demographic categories that matched across surveys will show.

Understanding the colours

When you generate the Compare Heatmap Report, the percentage of change will show in each cell.

These percentages are paired with a colour:

  • Green: This means there is a positive difference between scores. The more intense the green, the greater the scale of change.
  • Red: This means there is a negative difference between scores. The more intense the red, the greater the scale of change.

The boldest colours don't indicate the best and worst scores; they only indicate the percentage of change between the surveys.

Example:

If the boldest red shows -20% but the first survey score for that demographic group was 96%, the latest survey score would be 76%.

You can hover over any heatmap cell to view the individual score for each survey.

Sorting results

You can choose how to display your results in the Compare Heatmap Report.

Both rows (questions and categories) and columns (demographics) can be sorted:

  • alphabetically, and
  • by the overall percentage of change between surveys.

Missing demographics

If demographic options can't be matched across surveys, the Missing demographics label will appear, and those options will be excluded from your report. You can hover over the label to see which options have been excluded.

How to export this report

You can export the Compare Heatmap Report as an Excel file.

Your file will include the colour gradient from the Heatmap and can be copied into another report or presentation.
