What is the Insights Dashboard? ✨
The Insights Dashboard is the quick and simple way to start understanding your survey results. It's designed to help reduce manual analysis and get you to rich, meaningful insights that make a difference faster.
Generated using all of your survey data, the dashboard helps direct you towards the key takeaways, trends and areas that need attention, so you can feel more confident about where to focus action and resources that drive real change. It's easily exportable, allowing you to quickly share it with stakeholders or executive teams.
It shows organisation-wide results, which means it can only be accessed by:
- Account Managers, or
- Report Viewers with full access.
To generate it, you'll need to enable AI for reporting when you're creating your survey. Then keep an eye out for it when your survey closes, or for ongoing surveys when the first reporting period is met. It'll be the first tab in your reports section.
What's in it?
The dashboard is made up of five sections:
Survey summary
The survey summary looks at all your survey data to produce a high-level overview of your survey results. If you've included survey goals, it'll also highlight insights relevant to the goals you've entered.
Key statistics for your survey will be displayed above your summary. Depending on the type of survey you're running, you may see all or just some of the following:
- number of survey goals
- overall average score of your survey
- participation rate
- number of comments.
If your survey included branching or skip logic, you will also see a notification in that area explaining the impact on the Insights Dashboard.
2. What's working well
This section shows where you recorded higher scores or more positive feedback. There will usually be up to 3 areas listed. You can select View examples for a sample of supporting data used to generate the list. Based on your organisation's unique situation, what you consider or define as working well may differ from the list displayed.
3. What needs some work
This is the same as the previous section but flipped. It shows where you recorded lower scores or less positive feedback. You can select View examples for a sample of supporting data used to generate the list. Again, based on your organisation's unique situation, what you consider or define as needing some work may differ from the list displayed.
4. Demographic spotlight
If you collected demographic information in your survey or through your participant library, you will see the demographic spotlight. It is an infographic that highlights questions with the biggest difference in score between specific groups of people. It can help you quickly understand if there are groups of people that might need special focus.
In the example below, there are three demographics that scored well below the overage average score for the question.
5. Next steps
At the end of your Insights Dashboard, we'll provide you with a short checklist to help you keep momentum going and get the most out of your survey results. This checklist is informed by the Ask, Listen, Act, Measure framework, borne out of insights from leading organisational models from around the world and refined through 10 years of active collaboration with our customers.
As part of the checklist you'll see an item to explore some Suggested Actions. These are a mix of Quick Wins and Long-Term actions based on areas identified as needing some work. You can check out your Suggested Actions under the Actions tab.

Insights Dashboard FAQs
Who can access the Insights Dashboard?
To access the Insights Dashboard, you must be:
- an Account Manager or a Report Viewer with full access to survey results, and
- have AI for reporting enabled in your survey settings.
You can enable this setting when your survey is in draft, pending or active. If you need to enable it for a closed survey, contact our Customer Success Team. Once you enable AI for reporting on an active survey, it can't be turned off. This is because the process to generate the dashboard has already started.
Why can't I see Enable AI for Reporting on my survey settings page?
If you can't see this setting, check:
- Your survey template: You can't enable AI for Leadership Effectiveness surveys.
- Your organisation's AI policy: Your organisation might have opted out of AI features.
Why can't I see the Insights Dashboard?
If you can't see the Insights Dashboard, check:
- You have enabled AI for reporting in your survey settings. This must be turned on to generate the Insights Dashboard.
Your survey status: The Insights Dashboard only displays in your reports section after your survey closes or (for ongoing surveys) when your first reporting period is met.
Your role: You must be an Account Manager or a Report Viewer with full access to view the Insights Dashboard.
Number of responses: The Insights Dashboard needs a minimum number of responses to generate. This means:
At least one non-free-text question needs to have met the minimum reporting threshold; this is usually set to 5 responses per question but can be as low as 3. A non-free text question refers to a question type like Agree-Disagree, Yes/No, multi-choice, 0 to 10.
OR
- A least one free-text question needs to have received enough responses to generate a question summary. The Insights dashboard uses question summaries to highlight key findings from free-text questions.
I want to share the Insights Dashboard with my Executive Team, can I export it?
Yes, you can export it as a PPT.
The export will contain the Survey Summary, What's working well and What needs some work section. It will not include the Demographic Spotlight or Next Steps.
Here's how to export it:
- Select Export at the top right above the report menu.
- Select PowerPoint.
- Select Insights Dashboard.
If you only want to export a specific section, select the arrow to the right to expand and select what section you want to export.
Can I apply filters to the Insights Dashboard?
No, the Insights Dashboard shows only organisation-wide results. Filters can't be applied.
I'm running an ongoing survey, can I apply a different date period to the Insights Dashboard?
No, for ongoing surveys the Insights Dashboard needs to be generated periodically. You can choose how frequently it's generated in your survey settings by selecting a reporting period. For example, monthly or quarterly.
As you can't apply different date periods to the Insights Dashboard, it will always show data for the latest reporting period.
Why does my Insights Dashboard look different to the one described on this page?
Surveys that closed before 28 November 2024 will display the previous version of the Insights Dashboard. Enhancements mentioned in this guide will only be applied to surveys that close after this date or for ongoing surveys when their first reporting period is met.
How is my data protected while using AI?
We understand the importance of protecting your data and take every precaution to ensure it's safe and secure. That means as we explore new technologies like third-party Generative AI, your (and your participant's) privacy remains our top priority.
We use six techniques to protect your data and privacy:
- We don't share PII (personally identifiable information) with AI services.
- We remove PII from comments.
- We use encrypted tokens.
- We don't allow AI models to learn from data it's provided.
- We keep your identity separate from LLM insight generation.
- We use best practice data security.
