Key messaging for pre and post-survey communications
How you talk about your survey matters. Clear, open communication helps people understand why it’s happening, builds trust, and encourages everyone, including leaders, to get behind it.
When you create your survey, you'll be able to customise the following communications:
- invitation to take the survey
- reminder to take the survey
- welcome page
- thank you page.
While these messages are important, they work best when supported by broader communication from your organisation. Pre- and post-survey messages, typically from HR, senior leaders, or the CEO, help set the tone, manage expectations, and demonstrate a commitment to acting on the results.
Key messages pre and post-survey

Send an introductory message explaining:
- When the survey will run and how long it will take.
- Who AskYourTeam is and why the survey is being used.
- What will be done with the results.
- Your commitment to act on feedback and retest.
💡Don't forget to leverage your other channels. Take a look at our guide on how to promote your survey, for more ideas on how to get the word out and boost participation.
Post-survey
Send a thank-you message to:
- Acknowledge participants' time and input.
- Reinforce confidentiality.
- Share when results will be available and how they’ll be used.
